VAT increase

VAT diabetes aids to 9%

The government is increasing the low VAT rate from 6% to 9%. This will take effect on January 1, 2019. This will make many things more expensive. Think of groceries, water, books, the hairdresser, but also diabetes aids. This measure is part of the introduction of the flat tax, which also means that the mortgage deduction will be quickly reduced.

Glucose meters, test strips and lancets fall under the low rate and are therefore subject to 6% VAT. This will now increase to 9%. This is unfortunate and even bad. Products that are necessary to stay healthy should not be made more expensive by the government. The government should encourage its use sooner. This applies to diabetes aids but of course also to vegetables, fruit and drinking water. Because these products are also becoming more expensive.

The prices of some products on diabetesmagazijn.nl will also have to be increased. We will not do this immediately but will implement the increase gradually.
